A Trip Back Home: Seattle 2021

At the cast and crew screening of Win a Trip to Browntown!

The march to Lumin Field. Scarves up Seattle!

Back in September, I had the wonderful opportunity to go back home to Seattle for a couple of weeks on vacation, and then again in October for a couple of days to surprise my little sister for her twelfth birthday. And yet, since then, I’ve been feeling more homesick than normal, so I figured, why not write a blog? (It won’t help, but it’s good to try lol).

Event 1: The Screening of Win a Trip to Browntown

Part of the reason why I was going back home was to attend the cast and crew screening of a movie I’d been a part of in 2019 called Win a Trip to Browntown, directed by George Tramoutanas. I had an incredibly small part in it, but it was still wonderful to reconnect with George and to see an independent film that had so much love behind it come to fruition.

Event 2: Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers

Had a blast watching Fall Out Boy, Green Day, and Weezer

Seattle sports teams will always have my loyalty, especially the Seattle Sounders since I am such a huge soccer fan. I got lucky that the Sounders vs. Timbers clash fell during my trip and it was taking place at Lumin Field in downtown Seattle because I was able to go with my family and enjoy (we lost, but let’s not talk about that!). The march to the stadium is always my favorite way to start a matchday, and we had wonderful seats as well.

Event 3: Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy, Weezer, and Green Day

For those of you who don’t know, I am a HUGE Fall Out Boy fan. I had already bought my tickets for Hella Mega Tour back in May of 2021, so part of the reason I took my trip was to also attend this concert. I was going mostly for Fall Out Boy but I definitely rocked out during the other bands too. (Also, I’ve become a fan of their opener The Interrupters because of just how badass the lead singer is and how much their sound is a pure vibe). My favorite moment was during “Save Rock and Roll” by Fall Out Boy when the whole stadium had their phone lights out. I also cried during “Still Breathing” by Green Day, and I def got in my feels during “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.” The whole night was such a blast!

Event 4: Hiking beneath Mt. Rainier

Clean air and blue skies, what more could you ask for?

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, I definitely love a good hike. During this trip, however, I came to realize that I had yet to hike in Mt. Rainier National Park, so my family and I decided it would be a good time to go. We chose to hike Morraine Trail which has a good view of Mt. Rainier the whole time and is a trail that’s hardly trafficked. One word: Gorgeous. 10/10 would recommend to everybody.

Anyway, I have been homesick lately, but I got a dream to chase here in New York City, so keep your eyes peeled for future projects!

Onward!
