Upcoming Projects: December 2020
I’m so excited for the month of December! Not only is it my Birthday month (woo!) but in the process of closing out my time in the Evening Conservatory at the Atlantic Acting School, I will be involved in two really awesome Zoom projects.
Project #1:
“I Am a Positive Person” with Atlantic Evening Conservatory (full)
Show Date(s): 4-5 December 2020 at 8pm EST
Written by: Danny Rocco
Directed by: Will Detlefsen
Every year at the end of the program, the Evening Conservatory at Atlantic gets to perform a play written especially for that specific class. This year with the Coronavirus pandemic, that play has now moved to Zoom which, at first, was kind of a bummer. However, when we got Danny’s play, I was so pleasantly surprised. I think he’s succeeded in creating something that is uniquely formatted for Zoom. It is not a play, nor is it a movie. It lives somewhere in between.
In the Zoom show, I play the character of Crystal who is a challenging but also incredibly fulfilling character to portray. I won’t spoil anything with too many details but I think it’s going to be awesome.
Also, I just want to add that I love working on new projects. There’s something exciting about a work in progress, shaping the thing as you go.
Project #2:
Script Analysis showcase with Atlantic Evening Conservatory (partial)
Show Date: 10 December 2020 at 8pm EST
This is less of a project and more of a night to show the hard work we put into our Script Analysis class that we had with Karen Kohlhaas. For this last semester, we took a look at larger works through the Practical Aesthetics lens. And Karen (who is awesome btw) really wanted us to be able to show our family and friends the work we’ve been doing.
My group and I are doing two scenes from the play, “Independence” by Lee Blessing. I play the character of Sherry, a 19-year-old little shit who ultimately just wants to be loved and cared for.
Even though I’m excited for these two things, it is a little bittersweet. My time at Atlantic was absolutely fantastic. I hope the Atlantic community can be a home base for me as I venture into the wild and wacky entertainment industry.
Reach out if you’re interested in attending!
